WHEN:
There are three candlelit vigils taking place across the south west during the 16 days of activism to end gender based violence
Tuesday 25th, 11am-12:30 - Weston-super-Mare
Tuesday 25th, 4pm-5:30 - Kinswood, South Gloucestershire
Thursday 27th, 4pm-5:30 - Bristol City Centre
WHAT TO EXPECT:
1 in 3 women worldwide experience physical or sexual violence. At each vigil, we’ll hold a minute’s silence to pay respects and remember those affected. Two larger candles will be lit by survivors to symbolise the two women in the UK who die each week from gender based violence. This event is open to Students, Staff and the general public.
WHERE TO FIND US:
4pm - Gather at Kingswood Civic Centre (High St, Kingswood, BS15 9TR) for survivor artwork and hot drinks
4:30pm - Candlelit march to Kingswood Park bandstand where we’ll hear from survivors, speakers and light candles.
HOW TO SIGN UP:
Go along on the day and meet representatives from local partnerships
If you can, please bring a tea light holder/jar with you. We’ll provide tealight candles.
