How does PGR Representation work?

Lead PGR Rep - The Lead PGR Rep is the key cog that connects PGR students to the highest levels of academic representation. They represents PGR students across the University by attending key University level meetings such as Academic Board, Learning, Teaching and Student Experience Committee (LTSEC), Research and Knowledge Exchange Committee (RKEC) and Doctoral Academy Sub Committee (DASC).

College PGR Rep (1 per College) - The College PGR Reps connect PGR students at the College level to things that matter across multiple Schools. They are responsible for representing the PGR students within their College at key meetings by attending College Postgraduate Research Committee (CPGRC), in addition to College Research and Knowledge Exchange Committee (CRKEC) and Doctoral Academy Sub Committee (DASC).

School PGR Rep (1 per School) - The School PGR Reps are responsible for representing the PGR students within their School at key meetings.They attend College Postgraduate Research Committee (CPGRC) and occasionally School Boards of Studies (SBoS) when relevant PGR business arises.

• Wednesday 13 May 12pm (noon) - Nominations Open
• Tuesday 26 May 12pm (noon) - Nominations Close
• Wednesday 27 May - Candidate Briefing
• Thursday 28 May 12pm (noon) - Manifesto Deadline
• Friday 29 May 8am - Campaigning & Voting Opens
• Thursday 4 June 6pm - Voting Closes
• Friday 5 June 2pm - Results Announced
• September - Role Begins

How it works

• Nominate yourself by heading to https://www.thestudentsunion.co.uk/elections/pgr/ and clicking "Post List" - submit your personal information
• Once nominations close and the eligibility checks have been run, you will be contacted by the Representation team
• Make sure your picture and manifesto is uploaded by the deadline, you can submit this by clicking 'Stand' and scrolling to the bottom to 'Manifesto'
• Once campaigning opens, start speaking to your cohort about why they should vote for you!
• Voting will close and then the following day the results will be announced
• If succesful, you will be contacted to arrange training
