A farm near Bristol (TBC) - transport to be arranged!
We've discovered a cornucopia of vegetables going to waste on a Somerset farm!
The vegetables are at risk of being wasted due to the cosmetic standards of the consumers. But its all perfectly delicious and nutritious, so we're setting out to save as many as possible for charity, and we NEED YOUR HELP to harvest them. The more volunteers we have, the more we can save! Some of the veg we save will be going to our Disco Soup event in Bristol on the 23rd of October. Come and join us chopping to the beat, and check out our waste reducing cooking demonstrations.
So we’re inviting volunteers to help bring in the harvest and save this tasty veg from waste. We'll be supplying the excellent charity FoodCycle with much-needed food for people in need. Please join us for a worthwhile, rewarding and sociable day out on the farm!
Join us on Friday 20th October, 1-5pm, at a farm near Bristol.
**Sign up here** to provide us with a few basic details. It’s really helpful if you can sign-up ASAP, as this gives us an idea of numbers. Please make sure that you’re free for the full duration of the gleaning day (see the times listed above) and allow for travel time to and from the farm. Make sure you specify correctly which day next week you'd like to come.
If you do sign-up and later realise you can’t make it, please email to cancel at westengland@feedbackglobal.org We’d really appreciate you giving as much notice as possible: last-minute drop-outs can sometimes have knock-on effects on other volunteers, the farm and charities, and even prevent the gleaning day from going ahead. Don't be a flakey fennel!
Expenses: Travel expenses can be covered for those travelling from Bristol, Somerset or nearby – just check with us first (we cover up to £12 per gleaner).
