Monday 7th October

Mental Health Campaign Stand

  • Location: Bower Ashton Students’ Union
  • Time: 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

The UWESU Mental Health Campaign is running an awareness stand at the Bower Ashton Student's union. We want to know what keeps you rooted, what makes you happy and what stresses you out from the point of view of an Arts Student. We will also have information and leaflets from mental health charities in Bristol in case you want to get more involved or find out more about the services in Bristol.

Tuesday 8th October

Mental Health Campaign Stand

  • Location: Escape Bar Patio, Frenchay Campus
  • Time: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The UWESU Mental Health Campaign is running an awareness stand on the Escape Bar Patio at Frenchay Campus. We want to know what keeps you rooted, what makes you happy and what can stress you out as we build a picture of Mental Health at UWE. We will also have information and leaflets from mental health charities in Bristol in case you want to get more involved or find out more about the services in Bristol. We will also be selling cakes at a depressed cake stand and all the proceeds will go to local Mental Health charities in the Bristol and surrounding areas. 

Film Night

  • Location: Scene IT Cinema, 2D07, Frenchay Campus
  • Time: 6 p.m.
  • Cost: FREE

The UWESU Mental Health Campaign is running a free film night where we will be showing the Oscar winning film 'Silver Linings Playbook', a 2012 film in which several of the main characters have a history of mental illness (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1045658/). After this we will be having a brief open discussion forum on the depiction of mental health in the film and whether it is an accurate reflection as well as a positive or negative one.

Wednesday 9th October

Mental Health Campaign Stand

  • Location: Glenside Campus Students’ Union (Student Centre)
  • Time: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The UWESU Mental Health Campaign is running an awareness stand on Glenside Campus Student Centre. We want to know what keeps you rooted, what makes you happy and what stresses you out. We are also really keen to hear your views on ways in which Mental Health Campaigning should move forward to be more inclusive of students from the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences. We will also have information and leaflets from mental health charities in Bristol in case you want to get more involved or find out more about the services in Bristol.

Thursday the 10th

Mental Health Campaign Stand

  • Locations: Bower Ashton Students’ Union, St. Matt’s Students’ Union, Glenside Campus Student Centre, and Escape Bar Patio, Frenchay Campus.
  • Time: Frenchay 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; all other campuses 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

 

Thursday the 10th of October is Mental Health Awareness day and the UWESU Mental Health Campaign is running an awareness stand across several of the Bristol based campuses (Bower Ashton, Glenside, St. Matt’s and Frenchay). We want to hear your thoughts on Mental Health and what it means to you. We will also have information and leaflets from mental health charities in Bristol in case you want to get more involved or find out more about the services in Bristol. At the Frenchay stand we will also be selling cakes at a depressed cake stand and all the proceeds will go to local Mental Health charities. 

Friday the 11th

Mental Health Campaign Stand

  • Location: St. Matt’s Students’ Union
  • Time: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

 

  The UWESU Mental Health Campaign will be running an awareness stand at St. Matt's Student's union. This will be done in a similar fashion to the rest of the week where we are keen to hear about your views and experiences of Mental Health, with information being provided.

 

Sunday the 13th

Quiz Bonus Round in Escape

  • Location: Escape Bar, Frenchay Campus.
  • Time: 8 p.m.

 On Sunday 13th October the UWESU Mental Health Campaign will be attending and running the bonus round of the Escape Pub Quiz! This is going to be a fun event where we will be asking those taking part Mental Health themed questions.
