An Introduction into Expedition Medicine with Dr Benjamin Alba. 

This inaugural R+RMS event will be a interactive seminar based around Dr Alba's extensive experience in expedition medicine. He specialises in high-altitude expeditions, having worked in Africa, Central Asia and the Himalaya. He has a passion for remote and rural medicine and feels honoured to have worked with marginalised populations in the UK as well as indigenous populations across the world, including the Swahili, Maori and Sherpa people.

Dr Alba will give a brief overview of what a career could look like in the sector, his experiences and some cases studies, covering key topics including access to this area, learning and courses, pay, opportunities etc. Throughout he will open up the floor for questions and answers.

Attendees will be eligible for CPD certificates to add to their portfolios.

This event will take place on Thursday October 8th at 16:30hrs in room 1F035 on Glenside Campus.
