Action on Sustainability In March 2022, the Sustainability Committee ran their annual campaign and decided to focus on a whole range of different topics:
Celebrating Black Excellence The Presidents at The Students' Union have chosen to mark Black History Month 2022 (October), with a Celebrating Black Excellence Campaign. This campaign aimed to showcase Black people of excellence, address misconceptions about Black history, and empower the Black community to achieve greater heights.
Celebrating Culture After the overwhelming success of last years' Celebrating Black Excellence campaign, The Students' Union hosted a year-long ‘Celebrating Culture’ programme commencing at the start of October 2021. Our goal was to empower our students of colour, explore the rich history of multi-cultural Britain, and celebrate the fantastic diversity of cultures we have here at UWE Bristol.
Green Fortnight Green Fortnight 2022 took place from Monday 31 October - Sunday 13 November, and consisted of 14 days of sustainability and climate action here at The Students' Union and UWE Bristol.
Green Week
Movember In November 2021 we are supporting the Movember Foundation in a bid to raise awareness and raise funds for men's mental health, namely prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental ill-health. We lose 60 men to suicide each hour*, every hour and the Movember Foundation provides vital funds to help support those who are suffering.
Our World, Our Choice Passionate about sustainability and leading in making UWE Bristol the most sustainable place it can possibly be, the 2021-22 Presidents Team organised a year-long campaign to inspire and lead the student community into making positive changes and bring together all the work The Students’ Union and UWE Bristol are doing on the environment and sustainability.
UWE Says Relax We know that the exam period can be a stressful time, therefore it is important to make sure that you are staying well during this period and are having a good work-life balance.
