Vaccines

Student health is one of our priorities here at the Students' Union at UWE, which is why we want to make sure you feel well informed on how you can keep yourself safe from diseases like MenB, which can spread quickly when students from all around the UK and the world come together and mix. However, as students, you can enjoy your university experience knowing you have done everything you can to protect yourselves against these diseases by making sure you are up to date with routine vaccines you may have missed.

Recommendations when starting at University:

• Check you are up to date with your vaccines, and get any missed vaccines before arriving at university
• Make sure to register with a GP local to the university as soon as possible - UWE students can register with The University Health Centre which is based on Frenchay campus. Find more information and how to signup here: University Health Centre - Access health services | UWE Bristol
• If you do feel unwell,  let someone know so they can help regularly check up on you
• If you do feel unwell and need some medical advice, you can call 111, or for medical emergencies call 999.
• Between 18:30 and 08:30 or during the weekend, if unwell you can get medical assistance from a local Pharmacy, Walk in Centre or by calling the night doctor (GP out-of-hours service) on 111.
