The Students' Union at UWE are recruiting for students to work on a casual basis within our on-campus commercial services outlets (shop and, bar ), on Frenchay campus!

We are looking for students to work and be trained across our shop and, bar..

We offer shifts seven days a week, we have shifts available early mornings, throughout the day and into the evening and late evenings too, we will also have a few late night shifts available within September / October for the Welcome period. 

We need students who are happy to work early mornings and later evenings and weekends in addition to day time weekday shift times throughout the 2026/27  academic year.

Duties:

• Stock rotation
• Unpacking deliveries 
• Operating tills
• Tidying & Cleaning 
• Supporting supervisors and managers with tasks as instructed
• Stock checks
• Adhering to Health & Safety Legislation
• Food prep in the kitchen and bakery
• Providing excellent customer service
• Supporting in the bakery
• Reasonable duties as requested by our commercial services supervisors 
• Serving at the bar 

Skills & Experience:

Full training will be provided, however we are looking for candidates with the following skills/ experience: 

• Experience of working in a retail, hospitality or bar environment
• Experience of supporting a team
• Experience of working wihtin a customer services role 
• Can-do attitude 
• Positive attitude
• Enthusiastic
• Excited to learn new skills 

Hours:

Hours will be offered on a casual basis when shifts are available, full details will be outlined during the group interview.

When shifts are available we are looking for students comitted to working a varied shift patterns (mornings, daytime and evenings).

Rate of Pay:

£13.44 per hour

*Hourly rate will be topped up to include holiday pay

Interviews:

We will be holding in-person Group Interviews on the 5th May 2026, so please ONLY apply if you are available to attend a Group Interview on this date (if invited)

If successful following the Group Interview, you will then complete onboarding and training.
