Lead School Rep for the School of Arts (Undergraduate and Post Graduate) (2 positions) The Students' Union at UWE Closes Thu 01 Oct 2026 23:59 Applications Application deadline: Thu 01 Oct 2026 23:59 Job Details Job Description Job DetailsDuties To act as a lead representative for student voice within the school To catapult school wide concerns to the top and promote student-staff engagementTo attend college and school level meetings to present student opinion and student led ideasTo feedback to staff and student reps to facilitate a successful university experience by amplifying the student voiceTo research the student voice within the school and work with key staff and student repsTo pro-actively listen to and seek student voice, working alongside elected Student Reps and School Reps to gain a picture of student opinion across the entire school ahead of meetings.To research any issues, themes or best practice that have a school relevance, using relevant research methods. The post holder will disseminate this research to key stakeholders and work with relevant parties on positive action.To research student opinion on university proposals or ideas, actively contributing evidence based student opinion and reporting in meetings.To work collaboratively with UWE Staff, Students’ Union Staff and Student Reps to make sure the Rep system works smoothlyTo work with the Representation team to coordinate Student Reps To act as a motivator to Student Reps and other Lead School RepsTo attend Rep Committees, workshops and socials organised by the Representation Team in The Students’ UnionExperience/SkillsNo prior experience necessary.ResearchTeamworkListening skillsCommunication skillsWe're ideally looking for Frenchay Humanities students or City campus students.Humanties includes History, Film Studies, Media Communications, CMCIm Creative & Professional Writing, English Language and Linguistics and English Literature.The postholder will be required to undergo paid training. Occasional evening meet ups may be required.Additional InformationRate of PayThis role is paid through an honorarium payment for each University meeting attended that is supported with evidence based research and where outcomes are reported back to Student Reps / The Students’ Union. This role does not have an hourly rate associated with it. The payment paid per meeting is -£40 for training£50 for each university meeting attended HoursYou will be required to attend the majority of the School Boards of Study meetings you are invited to. LocationBased at the primary Campus of your department (Frenchay, City Campus or Glenside/Gloucester).The postholder will be expected attend meetings at Frenchay and conduct research with students at suitable physical or digital locations.
