Duties

We’re looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Wardrobe Assistant to join our fast-paced production team this October, and keep over 100 performers looking their most gruesome throughout the run!

• The primary responsibility is to maintain the cleaning and laundering of all costumes for the production, in the manner and frequency required.
• To maintain the relevant costume requirements and ensure performer needs are met in an efficient, effective, flexible and friendly manner at all times.
• To assist in the tracking of supplies and materials required for the running of the costume workroom. 
• To carry out costume refurbishment, as needed. 
• To familiarise yourself with storylines and characters at the event. 

To ensure that all running wardrobe work is achieved within the time constraints set, paying close attention to detail (guests will be able to view costumes and action up close).

• To help keep the wardrobe room and dressing rooms clean and tidy, and follow good housekeeping procedures. 
• To oversee the signing out and signing in of all costumes. 
• Carry out all duties in accordance with training and instructions given, and maintain health and safety standards for all guests and staff.

Complete the event Show Report and submit to the FEAR Creative Director at the end of each night.

Skills and Experience

You must be a strong, confident individual with previous experience in fast paced theatrical environments, who can follow instruction, solve problems independently, and maintain a high standard of work. You must have working knowledge of costume repair and skill set for both hand and machine sewing. 

You must also have excellent communication skills, be friendly and approachable, and have good organisation, time management and administration skills. You will need to be flexible and adaptable in your approach to the role and possess a positive, forward-thinking attitude.

Additional Information

Due to the nature of this role, applicants must be 18 or over and have full availability for the whole duration of the contract. This role will require you to work evenings, weekends, and late nights on following dates: September 7th, October 6th, 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 25th, 26th, 27th, 31st, November 1st, and 2nd. 

This role will also include a period of pre-production work and costume room set-up, on select dates between September 30th - October 5th.
