Duties
UWE Bristol Sport, in partnership with British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) and The Students’ Union, are offering a UWE student a short term paid position at the University; to assist in the implementation and delivery of the Global Majority Sport Community project. This project aims to work with Global Majority students to address the disparity and close the gap in sport participation, plus working on less well understood factors like the experience of taking part and any 'enjoyment gaps'.
We aim to deepen our understanding of current barriers and create culturally relevant, welcoming and safe spaces where people feel they belong.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have a passion for inclusion in sport and physical activity, an understanding of the experiences and needs of Global Majority students, and the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with diverse communities and varied project stakeholders. Passionate about getting people active Creative, can do attitude Highly self-motivated and versatile Energetic, enthusiastic and caring personality Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to meet deadlines, complete tasks methodically and efficiently An understanding of equal opportunities Good IT skills including e-mail, social media and excellent verbal skills Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people Ability to deal with conflict and dilemmas Must be aged 18 years or over and a current UWE student We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
