This is an exciting opportunity to support the Digital Learning Team in working to encourage digital innovation and improve the digital capability of staff and students. Student Digital Leaders will be supported to become Adobe Express and Microsoft 365 experts and deliver digital skills sessions in person and online. They will also participate in innovative digital projects that work toward the UWE Bristol 2030 and Digital Strategies, with the aim of giving students the best learning experience and digital skills to prepare them for the workplace.
The successful candidate would be involved with the ‘Maker Space’ in Frenchay library, however there is also a requirement to spend some time at another campus, depending on which school you are a student of. We are aiming to get two representatives from each college and encourage students from all campuses to apply.
Duties
Supporting other students with their digital skills via face to face sessions, podcasts, 121 support and webinars. Taking responsibility for the full process with support from a member of the Digital Learning Service.
Skills and Experience
Successful candidates will be good with people, eager to learn new digital and people skills and prepared to support others. You do not necessarily need to be at a high level of digital capability already or on a related course, you do need to be self-motivated and eager to learn. We would want the successful candidates to demonstrate digital curiosity, people skills and the ability to manage time. We will support you to learn specific skills but are also open to the successful candidate showcasing the digital skills they feel confident with as well as learning new things.
Hours
This casual post is approx. 28 – 35 hours per month but these hours will be flexible. During term time you should be available in person.
The role will begin immediately and will be reviewable every three months to ensure that it still working with your programme of study.
