Duties

• Picking / preparing and loading furniture into the loading bay area from the numbered bays
• cleaning the furniture ready for jobs to go out
• Maintaining the furniture and warehouse space
• Minor repairs to furniture that may involve spraying / sanding / some DIY (training can be given)
• Cleaning down the warehouse space each day / rec room and other areas
• Sorting recycling and doing trips to the recycling centre with packaging / cardboard / etc
• Transfer of stock from one unit to another (30 secs drive between units)
• Loading vans and heavy haulage (18 tonne and artics)
• Possible driving work as well (if desired, but not compulsory)
• Possible site work required out on jobs when the warehouse is quiet

Skills and Experience

Experience/Skills:

• Some DIY (training can be given)
• Training will be given wrapping the furniture ready for transport
• Some weekend work depending on requirements (can be swapped with other days or taken as additional pay)
• Attention to detail, punctual and willing to lend a hand and get stuck in with the team
• Manual Lifting preferable / ability to conduct manual tasks and manual handling
• Basic computer/ IT skills
• Other things to consider:
• Driving Licence is desired or ability to get to the warehouse (as the warehouse is a long way from any public transport drop off points)
• Well-presented and happy to wear a uniform (polo shirt and dark jeans) safety boots and hard hats are provided
• Flexibility of hours- this role sometimes requires early starts or late finishes if meeting trucks to unload

Hours 

Shifts usually Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 15:30 with 30 mins for lunch

Up to 20 (2 days per week – to be decided)

Hourly Rate

£13.50 per hour
