UWE Filipino Social Pages
UWE Filipino provides students with a range of social events, aimed at spreading awareness of Filipino culture, bringing together Filipino and non-Filipino students together– whilst always having a great time!
The Philippines is an archipelago of over 7,600+ islands, over 150+ dialects and a diverse range of cultures and traditions– unique to each region. Our official language is 'Filipino' (a standardised version of Tagalog) and English– we welcome all UWE students to come join us and learn more about our rich culture!
Our society events range from games nights, showcases and society dinners; to pub crawls, karaoke bars and club events. We strive to provide a broad and diverse range of activities, as our UWE Filipino members are one of the most active and closest communities at UWE!
UWE Filipino has a dedicated basketball team, which represents Bristol along with the University of Bristol Filipino Society, at Inter-Filipino society tournaments across the UK. Filipinos have a passion for sports and we aim to form the UWE Filipino Volleyball team to participate in national tournaments, later this year (2024/2025).
Whether you are familiar with Filipino culture, or completely new, we welcome you all! Join the vibrant and active community at UWE Filipino society and you'll begin to understand why–
