Build and collect cars, planes, tanks, dioramas & more with friendly modellers at UWE. Build nights, workshops, trips, showcases & more. Anyone welcome, bring a kit or just your curiosity.
Welcome to the UWE Scale Modelling Society!
If you’ve ever enjoyed building or collecting model kits; from cars, aircraft and tanks to sci-fi, figures and dioramas, this is the community for you. We also welcome diecast collectors who want to share and showcase their collections.
Our society is all about creativity, patience, and detail. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned builder, you’ll find a space to learn new skills, relax, and meet like-minded people. We provide opportunities to:
Join weekly build nights with space, mats and tools.
Take part in workshops covering assembly, painting, airbrushing, weathering and diorama building.
Share your work at display evenings and society exhibitions.
Swap kits and parts at socials and mini challenges.
Beyond the modelling bench, we’ll be running regular socials and trips, including visits to major model shows like IPMS Scale ModelWorld, as well as museum tours at Aerospace Bristol, Fleet Air Arm Museum and The Tank Museum. We also plan group visits to local airshows and car meets for inspiration.
Why join us?
Be part of a supportive, creative community.
Gain access to skills, resources and advice.
Showcase your builds and grow your collection.
Make friends with people who share your passion.

Whether you build, paint, collect or just want to try something new, come get involved and bring your ideas to life.
