Welcome to UWE Bar School, the society that will teach you about cocktail making, premium spirits and bar skills.
We are UWE Bar School society. Our sessions concentrate on cocktail making and tasting. If you join Bar School, you will taste a range of different cocktails, everything from Sex on the Beach to an Espresso Martini. We run weekly sessions where we make cocktails related to a theme on the night. For example, a vodka night would include all cocktails containing vodka.
We want everyone to join us at Bar School! This is a great opportunity to learn to mix and taste cocktails. Joining us is also a great opportunity to meet fellow students create close friends and chill out and laugh whilst at university. We run the odd bar crawl instead of a session and this is a brilliant opportunity to experience new pubs and clubs in Bristol. This allows you to create new memories that you may cherish forever (or until the next morning).
We run sessions every Wednesday at 7pm - 9:30pm! The sessions all run in Meeting Room 1 in the SU. Please, whether you're a member or not, come and join us there! You can follow us on our Instagram to see what kind of sessions we are running each week! (Sometimes we carry on in the SU bar or in town after the session too)!
Bar School hosts a trip to Europe every year with previous members having visited, Amsterdam, Budapest, Prague, Krakow, and most recently, we went to Dublin! The picture above was taken by a member at the absinthe tasting session in Krakow in 2014.
The trip, although limited to a number of people, is available to all active members who attend the majority of our sessions. Our trip is a prime opportunity to visit places abroad and have a great time.
