We plan events. We go to events. Occasionally we pretend we know what we’re doing.
We are the UWE Events Society — a student-led community dedicated to creating well-run, inclusive and engaging events throughout the academic year.
Our members come from all backgrounds and interests, united by a shared goal: to bring people together. Whether you enjoy planning, performing, creating or simply showing up and enjoying good company, you’ll find your place here.
We offer a varied and welcoming programme of events designed to help students connect, relax and enjoy their time at university.
From cocktail evenings and bar crawls to board game socials, open mics and themed nights, our events range from low-key to lively — always thoughtfully put together, and never without snacks.
Some events include alcohol. Many do not. All are inclusive, social and designed with student wellbeing in mind.
Sustainability is a key part of how we operate. We’re proud to make thoughtful decisions that reduce our environmental impact without compromising the quality of our events.
Here’s how we do it:
Reusable Cups and Plates – We prioritise reusables and avoid single-use plastic
Environmentally Conscious Venues – Our venues don’t require excessive energy to operate
Upcycled Decorations – We reuse and repurpose where possible. If it still works, we keep using it
Plant-Based Snacks – Always available, but no pressure if they’re not your thing
We know sustainability is a shared responsibility, and we do our best to lead by example.
You’re welcome to attend your first two events as a guest. After that, we ask that you become a member.
We keep things friendly, but yes — we’ll notice if you’re trying to avoid commitment.
