Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance week runs 12-16 February 2018.

Led by VP Community and Welfare - Sian and VP Sports and Health - Erin

The campaign has three main goals:

  • To raise awareness of STIs and how best to prevent them
  • To highlight the importance of the issues surrounding consent and sexual assault
  • To promote healthy attitudes towards sexual relationships.

No matter your gender, sexuality or opinions about sex, it is important to educate yourself. Whether that involves being aware of how to be safe, getting tested or learning how to start open and honest conversations about sex; we have found some useful places you can go for information.

  • Download a free UNI:SEX e-book from Lovehoney. An E-book full of student and sexpert tips.
  • 4YP is a local service which provides young people aged 13 - 24 information about sex and relationships as well as where you can access local health services.
  • NHS Choices Sexual Health Hub - This page provides information on all aspects of sexual health including information for the LGBT community – it is also gives detailed advice on what is available on the NHS.
  • Sexplanations is a youtube channel hosted by Dr Lindsey Doe. She discusses every aspect of sexual health as well as gender and sexuality.
  • The Terrence Higgins trust is the chosen charity for SHAG Week, they provide loads of information on sexual health including a focus on HIV.

Timetable of events:
