Our aim is to enhance the Geographical community at UWE by creating connections, strengthening friendships and building bridges between geographically-minded students, whether you study geography or not!. We want to ensure that you get the most out of your time at UWE, both academically and socially! Socialising with other geography students is very important to us, and we strive to organise events and promote a social atmosphere for students during the 2019/20 academic year we plan to get up to a number of social events, including:
Nights Out
We are currently discussing with various clubs and bars in Bristol. We are currently in negotiations with The Cider Press so we can get good deals for our GeogSoc members/
Pub Quizzes
We are continuing with our renowned pub quizzes featuring staff members from the geography and environment department plus plenty of drinks!
Summer Ball
Following the great success of our Summer Ball after the last three years, we are hoping to repeat a Summer ball for this year. We will keep you updated through emails and our social media accounts nearer the time.
NEW!! DGEM Seminar Series
A brand new regular event we are hosting with our faculty. We are hoping this will provide you with a networking opportunity with the department's professors and research students. Hopefully, this can provide some inspiration for your own work and to hear what our Profs get up to. 


Book sale
We will be using our Facebook page as a platform for you guys to sell and buy your textbooks and other geography-related books.

Student-led talks
This is an opportunity to hear current and past students experiences during placement/study-abroad and post-grad work
