In April 2014 some dedicated 3rd-year students launched the UWE Occupational Therapy Society. Since then we've gone from strength to strength, putting on loads of great events and resulting in us winning multiple awards.
By joining the Occupational Therapy Society you'll get the chance to socialise across all 3 cohorts and attend a variety of events and talks to enhance your occupational therapy studies. Join us, get involved, and have fun!
We've got loads of exciting stuff planned for next year, here's a taster of what we got up to last year.

The Occupational Therapy Society committee with Dr Jennifer Creek
who kindly gave the society a talk on occupational therapy at the cutting edge of health care in January 2017.
Glenfest BBQ - we organised a campus-wide end of year social including BBQ, bar, and rounders.
Trip to Naidex - get your OT-geek on at the biggest disability trade show of the year at the NEC
Death Cafe - bringing this taboo subject into the light over tea and cake

1. To develop closer links between the three cohorts
2. To enhance the learning experience of occupational therapy students at UWE, by
- arranging guest speakers, workshops, and events
- developing links with potential employers
- creating a stronger link with the
Royal College of Occupational Therapists
- accessing funding to attend conferences, shows, and exhibitions
3. To facilitate volunteering opportunities for our student members.
4. To link with prospective Occupational Therapy students through local colleges/schools
5. To hold social events
6. To fundraise for all of the above – and anything else we decide to do!
