The United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals underpin all our work as The Students’ Union and their ideals should connect to and drive our outputs.
NUS #SDGTeachIn week: 19 February
This week was the NUS
#SDGTeachIn event with NUS Sustainability. Over the week we published how we are working towards the Sustainable Development Goals at The Students' Union!
From the two Bring Your Own Bowl (BYOB) food waste events we ran last academic year, we saved around 100kg of food from landfill.
The Students' Union has an active pledge to
#BristolZeroTolerance and runs several campaigns including #ThisGirlCan. Get involved in International Womens Day (8 March): http://ow.ly/o13s30iu3ip #SDGTeachIn
The Students' Union at UWE has 100% renewable electricity and UWEBristol also generate our own electricity from the solar panels at Frenchay Campus - the largest single roof-mounted array in any UK university!
Make sure you ask for a compostable coffee cup at The Students' Union coffee shops and bars.
Get involved in our conservation volunteering project, UWE Greenspace! Did you know there is a community garden at Frenchay and herb beds at Glenside? Find out more: http://ow.ly/VDa430iu9fE
