Masha (Mariya) Orlova is a second year student at UWE Bristol, as well as a competitive member of UWE athletics club and a run leader.

Masha commented: "Running has always been a big part of my life and when the opportunity of becoming a run leader came up, how could I possibly say no? Running is great in so many ways and if I can get more people into it, that is always a plus."

"I have been running since I was about nine, mainly competing in 800m and steeple, however, as I grew older I started to include longer stuff as well. Currently I am competing for UWE in 800m, cross - country (which is usually like 6.5km) and sometimes road or mixed terrain races."

"My goal is to continue enjoying it and not burn out, as I want to be able to enjoy it for as long as possible. Of course setting PBs is also a bonus and I'm sure that's everyone's goal."

"There's a lot of advice that can be given to people that are just starting their running journey, but probably the most important piece of advice I've ever received is don't push yourself too hard, rest and don't forget to enjoy every moment."
