Welcome FAQs

Tickets will be available on the door if they have not already sold out. All events will have an increased price on the door. Please arrive in good time to be let in before last entry. Some events are first come, first served and will be subject to capacity.

Wristbands can be collected from The Students’ Union reception desk at Frenchay campus between 10:00 and 16:00, from Thursday 10 September through to Friday 18 September.

Your ticket is valid up until the event’s last entry and gives you guaranteed entry for the first hour of the event opening, after that it’s first come first served.

Yes. All our nighttime events are strictly 18+. Please bring valid ID: only a driver's licence or passport will be accepted.

Keep an eye on social media and the Welcome website for all updates.

We understand that it can be confusing in the run up to Welcome Week as Bristol is saturated with many different events claiming to be ‘official’. Our Welcome programme will be stamped with our logo and have a mix of events at The Students’ Union and in city centre venues. The official Welcome Week is run by The Students’ Union at UWE, which is a non-profit organisation, and organised on behalf by Next Play Group. We try to ensure value for money is delivered at every Welcome Event – not just another club night. While some non-official events will surely be enjoyable, please take care when buying tickets to avoid disappointment. If you are unsure, please contact us via suevents@uwe.ac.uk

Tickets will only be available to purchase by UWE Bristol students, but you can come if your friend buys your ticket.

We are happy to refund your ticket if you are no longer coming to UWE.

To be eligible for a refund, you will need to send proof to suevents@uwe.ac.uk. This can be a screenshot of your acceptance into another university or being declined by UWE. You can get proof through the UCAS website.

Please check all event details carefully before purchasing a ticket as our event partners cannot offer a refund if events go ahead as planned. For ticket purchases to individual events, you will be able to claim a refund if the date of the event changes, or in the event of a cancellation. You are not entitled to a refund if you change your mind about going or realise you can no longer attend. If you no longer wish to attend the event, there is an option to transfer or sell your ticket to another student. Remember that you can only transfer tickets to another UWE Bristol student. If you are purchasing tickets for someone else, please ensure they are using the Transfer Feature to avoid scams or being overcharged.
