That's why we've created our Placement Uniform Swap Shop, to give our healthcare students a more budget-friendly, eco-friendly placement experience.

Donate your paramedic uniform or grey scrubs at our new location next to the hub!
Swap Come along to our weekly Swap Shop events to exchange your uniform items for something more comfortable.
If you are using the previous uniform designs (2024 and previous excluding paramedic uniform) you can also use our self service form!
Collect You can still pop along to a Swap Shop event, even if you don't have anything to swap. Whether your uniform hasn't arrived in time for placement or you're struggling to juggle laundry with late night shifts, we can help you out on a case-by-case basis and temporarily loan you uniform.
Spread the word Tell your friends, your coursemates and your lecturers. This scheme is run solely on donations so the more uniforms we have, the more Swap Shops we can run!
Placement Uniform Swap Shops will be held every Wednesday during term time, between 12:00-14:00 in our new Students' Union at Glenside space, 1H33 (opposite the hub and coffee pod.)
Our updates to the Placement Uniform Swap Shop for 2026!:
The new self-service system will be open at all times the space is open for any of the previous academic years uniform. This includes for making donations, where students can use the self-service tablet then place items in our donation box.
How self-service will now work:
To use the new system, you can check through the cupboards for the items you are looking to swap or borrow. Please make an effort to keep this tidy.
Once you have found what you are looking for, you can take these and go to use our new self-service system.
The self-service system can be found on the iPad in the new space.
This will ask you to complete a short form asking what action you have taken and about the items you are swapping. This will automatically update our system, so we have an idea of stock levels.
Once the form is completed, you can put your previous uniform into the donations box.
Key information:
For grey scrubs and paramedic uniform the swap shop will use the previous opening times (12-2pm Wednesdays), and staff will support the swap shop. This is because we only have a limited supply of these items and need to ensure swaps are completed properly so we have provisions for future years and future students!
If you are a student who uses paramedic uniform or grey scrubs and would like to borrow some of the previous uniform, you can use the self-service system. If it is an emergency and you cannot wait until the next swap shop opening time, please email sucommunity@uwe.ac.uk. Please recognise that we will not always be able to facilitate requests outside of the official placement uniform swap shop opening times.
