Sport & Society Conference

SPORTS & SOCIETIES CONFERENCE

Sports and Societies Conference is a gathering of the societies/sports club committee members. It is a time to come together to discuss and share ideas/feedback, collaborate on topics relevant to the common interest of goals every student. It serves as platform for fostering communication, building connections and advancing the collective knowledge and initiatives of all societies or sports clubs. It is also a time for the VP Societies & Communication OR VP Sports & Health to provide updates on their manifesto and what they have been working on. Members of the conference, can ask the elected VP questions.  The conference may also be used to elect in members of the Student Council.  

There are 3 conference each academic year. There must be representation from each sports club/society at each conference (minimum of 2 members), and each committee member must attend a minimum of 2 out of the 3 conference for your committee position to appear on your HEAR report.  

Conference Aims:  

• To ensure that there is effective communication links with the student body. 
• All UWE activities (sports clubs/societies), are student led by representatives from all ratified societies/sports clubs.  
• To promote and contirubte towards the furtherance of communications and all societies/sports clubs.  
• Seek to provide opportunities for all students to participate and develop new skills; specifically in the areas of student led volunteering and fundraising.  

Members of the committee/conference:  

• The Vice President Societies & Communication (Societies Conference) OR Vice President Sports & Health (Sports Conference). 
• The President of each affiliated society/sports club (or their nominee – 2 members of each club/society must attend each conference)  
• The members of Societies and Communications Executive OR Sports Executive
