Here at The Students' Union we are passionate about sustainability and empowering and educating students and staff about the everyday choices they can make to look after our planet. With menstrual products being the 5th most common item found on European beaches and a big brand pack of 14 menstrual pads containing the same amount of plastic as 5 carrier bags it's time to get serious about what we use and how we dispose of menstrual products.
RESOURCES
We’ve put together this guide to help give you some more information about sustainable period products.
City To Sea have great resources on their website about having a plastic free period - including resources like this where they breakdown the material, cost and how to dispose of both single use and reusable products.
Check out the video below from our Sustainable Periods workshop we held in 2021. The video gives more information about sustainability, period products and what sustainable options are out there.
MONTHLY PERIOD STALLS
We run monthly period stalls at Frenchay, Glenside and Bower Ashton where you can find out more about our sustainable period product trial, learn about having a plastic free period and grab some free NatraCare period products.
You can find out when the next period stall is on our 'Whats On' pages!
