Here at The Students’ Union at UWE, we understand how expensive placements can be, from uniform to transport and parking, it all adds up. That’s why we created the Placement Uniform Swap Shop.

The Placement Uniform Swap Shop runs every Wednesday from 12-2pm, to give our healthcare students a more budget-friendly, eco-friendly placement experience.

When you have finished youre course, you can drop off  your clean ,pre-loved placement uniform items off in the Glenside office anytime between 9:30-16:00, Monday-Friday. This means that students from all helthcare courses can come along to our weekly swap shop events to exchange their uniform for something more comfortable. No swap ? No problem ! Here at the student union we are understanding to peoples circumstances and we offer a loan service to people whos uniform have not arrived yet aswell!  

The interest in the swap shop has been phenomenal. We have had interest from students across the ranges of healthcare at Glenside Campus, from Physiotherapy, Nursing and Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Diagnostic Imaging and Paramedic Science.

We have had amazing engagement with over 350 students benefiting from the swap shop since the beginning of this academic year, saving students over £3100!

Whether your uniform is too big , too small or just hasn't come in time; the swap shop offers alternatives for all uniform needs. 

We have had  amazing verbal feedback directly from our hardworking students on how the swap shop has helped them feel more confident in what they are wearing and as a result they are more prepared for their placements and practicals. Students are grateful for an opportunity to swap their uniforms without the cost of purchasing new sizes.
