Our Community Team are looking for an enthusiastic individual with an understanding of social justice issues and a strong administrative skillset to join their team, to support The Students’ Union Presidents operationally and administratively to run key liberation campaigns.
The community team here at The Students' Union at UWE aim to create a sense of belonging for the UWE Bristol student communities.
The Liberation Campaigns and Equity Coordinator will support building this sense of community by operationally and administratively supporting student-led liberation campaigns, projects and events such as Black History Month, LGBTQ+ History Month and Disability History Month.
We are therefore looking for an individual with strong administrative and organisational skills to facilitate the delivery of identified key campaigns/ projects and liberation initiatives as identified by the student population/ elected officers, whilst working in alignment with The Students' Union Strategic Plan and carrying out tasks as instructed by the Community Manager.
Additionally, we are looking for experience of campaigns or equality, diversity and liberation projects/ events or activities or previous voluntary experience in an equality, diversity, inclusion and/ or liberation role with a strong understand and commitment to equal opportunities.

Location: Based at Frenchay Campus- Bristol
The postholder will be required to work at, or from any of the Union’s establishments (Bower Ashton Campus, Glenside Campus etc) and be willing to travel within Bristol and the surrounding area
Duration: FIXED TERM – 2 YEARS (Likely End Date July 2024)
Hours Per Week: 37 Hours per week
Due to the nature of the role, must be able and willing to work outside standard office hours as and when required (with notice), including semi-frequent evening work and occasional weekend work for events/ activity
Grade: 3.1
Salary: £21,572 + Annual salary increases + Annual increment salary increases for your first three years’ (can be outlined within interview) based on full time hours (37 hours per week)
Holiday Benefits: 27 days annual leave + Bank Holidays & Closure Days (pro rata)
