The Students’ Union at UWE is looking for a Marketing and Events Assistant to join its dynamic Marketing team. You will play a key role in supporting the Marketing team and the Presidents in driving the marketing activity of the Union, comprising a wide range of engagement and commercial campaigns, from Welcome to student elections. You will be involved at all levels, helping to plan and implement effective campaigns and messaging using multiple channels, including TikTok.
The Students’ Union at UWE is looking for a Marketing and Events Assistant to join its dynamic Marketing team.
You will play a key role in supporting the Marketing team and the Presidents in driving the marketing activity of the Union, comprising a wide range of engagement and commercial campaigns, from Welcome to student elections. You will be involved at all levels, helping to plan and implement effective campaigns and messaging using multiple channels, including TikTok.
Working closely with the Marketing Manager and Senior Marketing Co-ordinator you will support key events, such as the Freshers’ Fair and Welcome Fairs, as well as supporting commercial bookings and promotional activity on site.
This job is full of variety and you’ll need to be able to turn your hand to a multitude of tasks, including research and analysis, gathering commercial evidence, writing copy, event management and producing content for social media.
You will have a can-do attitude and be enthusiastic about marketing. You’ll have impeccable writing skills and excellent social media skills, as well as having creative ideas about how we engage with our students, staff and the University. We’re looking for someone educated to degree level (or equivalent), who has previous experience of working within a communications or marketing role.

Additional Information:
Salary: £23,088
Grade: 2.1
Hours per Week: 37 hours per week, working 5 out of 7 days.
Duration: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Holiday: 27 Days + Closure Days + Bank Holidays ‘pro rata’
Location: Based at Frenchay Campus.
The postholder may be required to work at, or from any of the Union’s establishments (Bower Ashton Campus, Glenside Campus etc)
