2015 Varsity Series levelled at 1-1
This year saw the first ever Varsity 10K event taking place at Bristol Harbourside. With the weather holding out long enough to see everyone cross the finish line, the flat course saw students, staff, alumni, and friends of the Universities speed past the magnificent SS Great Britain enjoying the sights and sounds of the unique waterfront race.
The University of Bristol claimed the first 3 male runners across the line with Mark Edwards and James Thompson completing the course in a fantastic 35 minutes. UWE’s Ryan Wilton and Ciaran McQuade crossed the line just a minute later, whilst the first 3 female runners to cross the line Kay Nias, Kathy Stringer, and Tracey Horton represented UWE.
However, it was Bristol that proved victorious with a quicker average time than that of UWE’s, bringing the overall Varsity Series score to one a piece. There’s still all left to play leading into the final 4 weeks of the series!
