International Students Phone Scam

BE CAREFUL - The University have heard that there are scam calls to target international students.

International students are being targeted by people alleging to be from the Home Office.

The caller normally says they are from the Home Office and has your details to gain your trust. They will then threaten you to pay a fine or else they will report you to the Police or the Home Office to detain or deport you.

They might appear genuine, but do not confirm any of the information they have, and do not give them your bank information over the phone. 

If you receive this kind of call: be calm, do not give them any money, do not give them your details, and let UWE Bristol know immediately (e.g. Info Point, Visa Hub, Global Student Support).
