Lauren, VP Education, recaps the Student Experience Awards.
The evening of Monday 11 April was where it was all happening for UWE staff and students, it was the night of the very first Student Experience Awards! Held at the wonderful At-Bristol, 200 staff and students attended to celebrate the student experience successes of the year so far hosted by myself, (Lauren, Vice- President Education at The Students’ Union)
On arrival, guests were serenaded by the UWE Jazz band and had a chance to walk around the museum with a glass of bubbly, before being called upstairs to their tables where the 18 awards were presented along with a lovely three course dinner. The ceremony began with an introduction from myself and Steve West, Vice-Chancellor talking about the inspiring work that staff and students do across the university.
I hope you'll agree with me that the evening was a great success and showed the fantastic partnership between the Students Union and the university working collaboratively on teaching input, across departments and representation levels.
