On the 7th of July the committee of UWE Anime Society and some friends decided to shave their heads for Cancer Research UK. This was because the Vice President was diagnosed with cancer during the year and they wanted to show their support to her, and to make something good out of a bad situation. Six of them shaved their heads: Elena Packham (President), Alex Hughes (Participation Officer), Josh Saraçoglu (Treasurer), Sam Janes (Upcoming Participation Officer), Joseph Ascott (Upcoming Treasurer) and Mark Packham.

As of this moment they have raised £1,718 for Cancer Research UK and sent the longer hair off to the Little Princesses Trust, so they can attempt to make it into wigs.
