We’re proud to invite you to Diversity Day, Taking place across Tuesday 25th February - Friday 27th February. This week is dedicated to celebrating the many identities, cultures, and communities that make up our campus. This is your chance to experience the best of what our student body has to offer, from cultural displays to live performances, all while meeting new people and learning more about the stories that make our community so unique.
Here’s what’s in store:
The Taste of Culture Fair brings together student societies and groups who’ll be showcasing the diverse cultures and experiences on campus. Expect stalls featuring everything from cultural traditions and global majority cultures to LGBTQ+ representation and the experiences of students with disabilities. We will also have a stall from the Global team celebrating Mother Langauge Day.
It’s a chance to explore, connect, and celebrate what makes us different—and what brings us together.

The Taste of Culture Performance will feature a range of live performances, including dance, spoken word, and readings from No More Silence authors. Each performance reflects the talent and diversity of our student body, offering a glimpse into the unique experiences that shape our community.

This workshop, developed with input from our LGBTQ+ Officer, Adelaide, is a space for LGBTQ+ students to explore makeup and self-expression in a welcoming, supportive environment. Led by experienced makeup artist Jax-Glam, the session focuses on building confidence, celebrating individuality, and helping students feel comfortable in their own skin—whether you’re a beginner or just looking to try something new.

We’re hosting Mothers for Mothers on Glenside for student parents and carers who might need a bit of extra support or just want someone to talk to about their university experience while raising a family. The charity offers services like peer support groups, counselling, and dedicated help for parents of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Run by women who’ve been through similar experiences, they offer practical advice and a listening ear for those balancing studies and parenting.

Food is a big part of celebrating culture, and we’re bringing a cultural food vendor on campus for Diversity Day. Between the Taste of Culture Fair and the Taste of Culture Performance, we’re bringing a Sri Licious to campus, offering delicious dishes for you to enjoy. Even better—the food is free for attendees of both events! Make sure to stop by, grab some food, and fuel up for an evening of performances and celebration.
The Students' Union at UWE is committed to celebrating and empowering our students all year round. Through our clubs, societies and campaigns, we’re always working to create spaces where students can feel seen, heard, and supported. Diversity Day is just one of the many ways we aim to bring people together and celebrate the unique contributions of every student on campus.
