Students should make extenuating circumstances applications in advance of an assessment. However, if the circumstances make this impossible, the submission must be made as close as possible to the deadline of the affected assessment(s).

There are also final deadline dates for the submission of extenuating circumstances and these have now been published for the 2014 examining boards.  Final deadlines are needed in order to allow time for applications to be considered before the meetings. 

These dates fall on the last Friday before each of the main examining board periods begin and are as follows:

• Modules completed by January 2014: 14:00 on 14 February 2014
• Modules completed by June 2014: 14:00 on 13 June 2014
• Modules completed by August 2014 (including resits): 14:00 on 29 August 2014
