Exciting news from Hub Radio, UWE's student radio station.
Hub Radio along with other local radio stations in Bristol has been chosen as one of ten locations to be involved in a nine-month DAB digital radio trial.
Along with BCfm 93.2, Ujima Radio, Bradley Stoke Radio, Somer Valley FM, BFBS Radio (Armed Forces), BFBS Gurkha and The Breeze, Hub Radio will launch on DAB digital radio within the next 12 weeks. A small-scale DAB transmitter will be erected in the middle of Bristol.
This opportunity presents great exposure for Hub Radio, UWE Students’ Union and the University, with Hub Radio being one of only a select few student radio stations to be part of the broadcasting trial. If successful, the trials set up by radio regulator Ofcom could see hundreds more local and community radio stations hit the air in the future!
With a new building and studio, Hub will relaunch on Digital Radio just in time for Freshers’ Week 2015!
Hub Radio will remain broadcasting online at hubradio.co.uk and on 1449AM in North Bristol.
