The Students' Union
The National Student Survey (NSS) results for 2026 have been released - check them out to see how we're doing and what we plan to do next!
The National Student Survey asks final year undergraduate students across the UK on an annual basis to share their views on their academic support, teaching and assessments, and the wider student experience. To view the overall headlines nationwide click here, where you can also download the data for yourself, UWE specific breakdowns can be found here. Below are some of the figures that we're particularly proud of here at The Students’ Union at UWE:

What do these tables mean? Student voice relates to how well students perceive they can give feedback on their course, whether that is through their Student Reps, Lead School Reps or interactions with Students’ Union staff and directly with UWE Bristol academic staff. This question represents the work of many staff and students across UWE and The Student’s Union. After a large 6% increase last year in student voice, students’ perception of their voice being heard continues to increase. This score is slightly below the average score but is not significant. We will continue to work in partnership with UWE Bristol through the framework established as a result of jour joint reimagining representation project.

What do these tables mean? After a large increase in this score last year, our SU question has increased by 0.8% compared to last year. Although we are still slightly below the sector average, we are continually improving and will keep working to close the gap.
The headline is that all metrics for UWE regarding student voice, providing students with opportunities to feedback on their course and the effectiveness of The Students’ Union representing academic interests have all increased, indicating that the work being done by student leaders in partnership with the university is making a real difference.
A huge thank you to every final-year student who shared their views, and to our incredible Student Reps and staff who champion the student interest every day. Our VP Education, Helena, and the Representation Team will now dive deeper into the data to see how we can keep improving your student experience. Thanks to UWE staff who are seeking to constantly improve students' academic and student experience.
