Meet activists from the UWE Free Palestine Society and find out how to get involved! Come to our stall outside Escape Bar where we will have lots of goodies to buy as well as information on Palestine and our current campaigns and events.
Tues. 12th Nov. 6pm | Frenchay 1K15

Free screening of an award-winning documentary film from co-directors Emad

Yousef Al-Helou, an independent journalist from Gaza and correspondent for the
Real News Network will talk at Arc Bar. At the beginning of October, he managed to leave Gaza after weeks of waiting at the border with Egypt to take up a place at The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, Oxford University. He will be accompanied by Amena Saleem who works for the PSC and is a keen journalist, writing many articles for electronic Intifada.
Fri. 15th Nov. 6pm | Frenchay 1K2
UWE Free Palestine Society welcome Mark Smulian to talk and play music live
at our university! Mark was born in the UK and moved to Israel when he was 16. Mark served in the IDF and also created the first ever band, ‘WhiteFlag Project’, to include performers from both Palestine(Gaza) and Israel working together. Mark's musical journey has led him on path of awakening that has shown him that, while never ignoring the enormous problems and injustices that exist between Palestinians and Israelis, it is possible to find positive ways to create a fair and gentler future for all of us.
