As part of our drive to reward and recognise our Student Reps, December saw the introduction of a Rep of the Month Award. This award is given to a Rep who has gone above and beyond their duties to bring issues to the attention of staff, make positive changes and engage students in their academic experience.

December's Rep of the Month Award has been given to Ronnie Mutulili. Ronnie is a first year Aerospace Engineering student from the Faculty of Environment and Technology. Since starting his studies here at UWE Bristol Ronnie has been elected as a Student Rep for his course, Department Rep for his Department and even sits on University-wide meetings representing the entire student body. Ronnie has been incredibly proactive in all of the roles that he undertakes which has been recognised by the students, staff and us here at The Students’ Union alike.

We asked Ronnie why he wanted to become a Student Rep:

“As a Rep for my course, my goal was to be part of a community of students and me as the voice they could express themselves through. I wanted them to look up to me as someone who would help them through their first year especially in a challenging course like Aerospace Engineering.”

Ronnie is certainly living up to his aspirations. Congratulations on your fantastic achievement
