On Thursday 21 March, the first UWE Bristol’s Got Talent was held at The Students’ Union. As one of my manifesto points, I organised UWE Bristol’s Got Talent to provide students with a platform to showcase their talent and help create awareness of the diverse talent that exists at UWE Bristol.
The evening saw 15 acts compete and included performances from singers, musicians, a dance group and a comedian. The show was judged by four internal and external professionals and was supported by over 250 people. The audience included UWE Bristol students, University of Bristol students and friends of the performers. As well as some amazing talent, attendees were also treated to free pizza during the show.
The winners of the evening were awarded certificates and cash prizes, while all other participants received a £10 food and drink voucher, for The Students’ Union Bar. The atmosphere at UWE Bristol’s Got Talent was incredibly supportive, with the audience providing encouragement during all performances. The show was a great opportunity for students to showcase their talent and has received a lot of positive feedback. We would like to thank the UWE Go Global Team and Jane Harrington and Jo Midgley, from the directorate, who financially supported the event.
