The Presidents and staff of The Students’ Union were extremely saddened to hear the news about Her Majesty the Queen’s passing at Balmoral Castle on Thursday, 8 September. Her Majesty was the longest reigning monarch in British history and someone who was hugely admired and respected by people across the world.
We send our deepest condolences to all of Her Majesty’s children and their families and all of those who have been affected by this news.
The Queen provided inspiring leadership to the people of the UK and the Commonwealth, and strongly upheld the values and beliefs of the Royal Family throughout her reign. She was hugely well regarded for her expert diplomatic skills and her kindness, working tirelessly on behalf of so many groups and charities. Young people and those in education were often at the forefront of her fantastic work and her death will leave a void in many people’s hearts.
