Our updates to the Placement Uniform Swap Shop for 2026!:

We have moved on Glenside Campus, and with our new space comes our new Placement Uniform Swap Shop!

The new self-service system will be open at all times the space for swaps or loans of any of the previous academic years uniform (2024 and previous, excluding paramedic uniforms).

The self service system will also be open at all times for donations, you can use the self-service tablet then place items in our donation box. 

How self-service will now work:

• To use the new system, you can check through the cupboards for the items you are looking to swap or borrow. Please make an effort to keep this tidy. 
• Once you have found what you are looking for, you can take these and go to use our new self-service system.
• The self-service system can be found on the iPad in the new space.
• This will ask you to complete a short form asking what action you have taken and about the items you are swapping. This will automatically update our system, so we have an idea of stock levels.
• Once the form is completed, you can put your previous uniform into the donations box. 

Key information:

For grey scrubs and paramedic uniform the swap shop will use the previous opening times (12-2pm Wednesdays), and staff will support the swap shop. This is because we only have a limited supply of these items and need to ensure swaps are completed properly so we have provisions for future years and future students!

If you are a student who uses paramedic uniform or grey scrubs and would like to borrow some of the previous uniform, you can use the self-service system. If it is an emergency and you cannot wait until the next swap shop opening time, please email sucommunity@uwe.ac.uk. Please recognise that we will not always be able to facilitate requests outside of the official placement uniform swap shop opening times.

• Please note that The Students' Union is a separate organisation to UWE Bristol, meaning that we are not directly responsible for providing new uniforms or placement information.
• If you wish to buy new additional or replacement UWE branded placement uniform directly from the supplier, Alexandra Workwear, then please email Infopoint@uwe.ac.uk who will be able to send you the details.
• Your first set of uniform from Alexandra Workwear will be free of charge. Payment is only required if you are purchasing additional items.
• For any queries regarding your placement, please speak to your Placement Coordinator.

• As our Swap Shop is run on donations, we may not always have a full range of sizes in stock so we encourage students not to rely solely on this scheme for uniform
