Student council meetings happen regularly throughout the year.
this is where the sabbatical officers are held to account, and elected student council members represent you!
What are "minutes"?
Minutes are meeting notes, they're taken live during a meeting by a "minute secretary". Minutes are not the same as a transcript of the meeting, they're not word-for-word. Minutes are a reflection of what happened in the meeting, and a log of what actions were agreed.
What are "actions"?
An "action" is a way to record the next steps on a project or area of work. An action might be a task, decision, responsibility, or something else that progresses a project. Actions are assigned to members of the meeting, so that it's clear who will be doing the work that needs to happen.
What does "confirmed" mean?
This means that the minutes from the meeting have been approved by the members: the minutes are a true reflection of what happened in the meeting.
What are "apologies"?
This is when a member of the meeting cannot attend, and informs the meeting in advance. Often they'll also provide a written update, so that the meeting can still be successful without them. If someone doesn't give "apologies" and doesn't attend the meeting, they will be recorded as absent.
