Swimming Pool for Frenchay Campus

Extra Information: A swimming pool would be a great addition to the existing sports facilities and would enable sports such as Water Polo to train at a fully UWE owned and controlled facility. A 50m pool would be the best option for training future competitive swimmers.

2:26pm on 17 Mar 19 Make it an Olympic sized pool, UWE would be the first University to have a dedicated one in the UK. It would also provide numerous benefits for the University such as. 1) A place for the UWE Swimming/Waterpolo Team to train instead of having to pay UoB to use theirs. 2) Attract more students to UWE as currently the Center of Sports is severely lacking. 3) Improve UWE's university ranking in terms of sports. 4) Allows students and staff to have access to a convenient pool, instead of having to travel to Filton or Horfield. 5) An Olympic pool would attract lots of local clubs and competitions, improving UWE's image as a University that is serious about sports. 6) It would be a great addition for the community around the University providing a place for people to exercise.
