AI generated images can be found on multiple UWE social media pages, including the main University account and the Centre for Music. At a University full of creative talent, UWE should be promoting the work of the artistic students found across all campuses .

Existing organisations full of artists include UWE Art Society, UWE Creators Network, along with courses such as Fine Art and Digital Media.

7pm on 16 May 25 I guess this should apply not just to images but audio and text too

5:31pm on 15 May 25 It's disappointing to see it being used in a city as full of art as Bristol. AI is a tool, not a replacement. It's off-putting to see it being used in lectures or LinkedIn as it looks lazy. Commission the students!

10:19am on 14 May 25 What's the point of having an arts campus if the artists there are valued less than AI?

3:36pm on 8 May 25 so i cant use dashes and semicolons in my essays because it’ll be flagged as AI usage but uwe can use ai generated images on social media despite having extremely talented art and photography cohorts? cool. cool cool cool cool cool

2:09pm on 7 May 25 it would be great to see UWE set a good example of commissioning actual artists for social media posts, especially considering the opportunities it could provide for the artists at Bower Ashton.

12:02pm on 7 May 25 AI usage is condemned by the university is usage of essays but they are willing to use it for something as easy as social media posts? There are 100s of students who would be able to make better more compelling artwork that doesn't come at the cost of the environment. Its even possibly a hireable position that could go to a student and you could be helping them kick start their career. Do better.

11:32pm on 6 May 25 Creative arts should be supported in higher education especially by an institution that is so industry led and encourages young people to embark into entrepreneurial careers.

10:52pm on 6 May 25 AI Really? What about the artists in Bower Ashton?

10:51pm on 6 May 25 A university should be promoting its own students’ art and giving their students a place to present their work. AI “art” contributes nothing, there are so many talented UWE students and it’s important for their work to be showcased. AI art exists because it’s based off of other people’s artwork. Highlight the people that create the art not the code that copies it.

10:50pm on 6 May 25 There is no point in actively choosing to worsen the planets ecosystem with AI. A university full of young, inspirational students should never advocate for that. ESPECIALLY when you have thousands of current art students willing to be commissioned for FREE, meanwhile PAYING YOU over 20,000 just to go in the first place.

10:30pm on 6 May 25 There are so many art, media and film making students and all the other creative subjects, who can make the stuff UWE need. Why is AI needed, use your students, help them grow their portfolios!!! Do something good.

9:15pm on 6 May 25 This is offensive to the number of art students at uwe. Not to mention the environmental impact of generative AI. UWE prides itself on being green and this is the opposite
Christian Satterfield
5:27pm on 6 May 25 For a school that prides itself on sustainability and going green, the promotion of AI for art undermines the ability to say we are a green school as AI wastes valuable natural resources for ease and convenience.

4:46pm on 6 May 25 AI is a tool, not a replacement for artists!

4:38pm on 6 May 25 I believe UWE is full of talented students and what better way to recognize their talent then use them to create art work for promotion of the university this way students get a chance to showcase their creativity and at the same time put UWE on the map for being a creative campus!
Rohan Riyait
4:33pm on 6 May 25 Using AI would devalue the skills of UWE's art students and indirectly steal real work claiming it as it's own
Grace Bolton
4:25pm on 6 May 25 There are so many talented artists, who make amazing art. Using ai instead of these artists is a crazy.
Anousha Steen
4:21pm on 6 May 25 AI art takes opportunities that could be given to real, talented students!

4:10pm on 6 May 25 UWE says they care about artist and promote it all over Bower Ashton. So they should give them opportunities instead of just feeding a machine a prompt.
Trinity Attwood
4:10pm on 6 May 25 It is hypocritical to use AI in official art when UWE has so many talented art students. They pay to study here just to be overlooked and replaced by laziness. They could be giving their students opportunities to show off their skills.
Henry Chadwick
3:58pm on 6 May 25 UWE spent a huge amount of money on creating separate campuses for artistic degrees and qualifications, yet they won’t give the students opportunities to present their talent nor do they celebrate the diverse range of talents that uwe students show.
Benjamin Percival-Celik
3:51pm on 6 May 25 Uwe has a large number of art students who can create higher quality artwork that is more ethical. Giving students this opportunity allows them to expand their own portfolio
Kara Goodhall
3:44pm on 6 May 25 Rather hypocritical of the university to penalise AI usage so heavily if found in assessments, whilst simultaneously using AI to generate an entire image posted to their social media account…
Taylan Yildirim
3:43pm on 6 May 25 There's no place for AI at UWE when it's use takes opportunities away from art students
Bobby McGahan
3:35pm on 6 May 25 Shouldn't be using AI in any capacity if UWE has so many incredible art students at their disposal to commission from!
