We want to inform our students about the free, confidential , non judgemental support services available this holiday period.
Here at UWE, we understand that everyone's situation is different, and for some students, 'home' isn't always a welcoming environment ,and returning from university during the holidays means returning to an unsafe family, partner or environment. We want to inform our students about the free, confidential and non judgemental support services available this holiday period.
We are proud to be working with city-wide partners in the ‘We Are Here’ Sexual Violence Support Campaign, to raise awareness among university students in Bristol about free professional support available for survivors of rape and sexual assault. Together we want students to know that we’re here to believe and support you, whether you report to the police or not. There are specialist services ready to listen, support, and help you take the next steps in a way that works for you. UWE's Anti-Sexual Violence Service provides a non-judgemental, inclusive and confidential safe space for you to seek support if you have experienced sexual trauma of any kind, even if you don’t want to report something. To learn more about the service and how to access support click here.
For students who do decide to stay in Bristol over the festive period, there's plenty of things to do and chances to stay warm and festive in a positive environment. UWE's Student Life team are running plenty of events in the next coming weeks, from a Pre Christmas walk, Christmas Giveaways to post Christmas gaming and film nights.
