The old SU has been left completely abandoned since the move to the new building. It seems like a huge waste of space to leave it as such, and leaves the Health & Applied Sciences campus area very poorly catered for in terms of relaxation space for students between lectures.

By turning either what was Red Bar or what was Escape into a Sleep Pod Bay, the provision of student spaces in this area of the campus suddenly becomes acceptable. Giving students the ability to catch a few Z’s between lectures would massively improve concentration ability and give everyone the chance to relieve stress before having to get back to work.

Also I’m aware that this would also give people the opportunity to sneak in for a cheeky one if they wanted to; it would be very easy to avoid this by purchasing certain sleep pod designs such as this one:

or having someone around to keep an eye on the pod bay, whichever works better.

Anyway, I think using this free space for a Sleep Pod Bay is great idea and I hope you do too!
