Extra Information: The United Nations and many other global organisations say that we only have 11 years left to limit a climate change catastrophe. As a university that highly values sustainability in everything that we do, we MUST declare a climate emergency. By doing this we will show commitment to keeping the university’s carbon emissions to a minimum as well as raise awareness about this issue and how important everyone’s input and commitment is. As a university of over 30,000 students and 3,500 staff, we can make a big difference not only for Bristol, but for the world. Student voices need to be heard about this; let’s follow UoB’s footsteps in the right direction and do our part to keep a healthy planet for future generations!
