The Ecosia search engine plants trees through every search. They support local partners and non profit organisations that plant trees using the investment from Ecosia. Organisations have also started using Ecosia but imagine how many trees we can help plant as a university with the 31,877 students here (2019).
They also include a count of how many trees your single search engine has helped to plant. UWE could present this number on their social media and on their websites encouraging alongside it's sustainable strategy.
It will be free for the University to download, all that is required is from UWE's IT team is to update the UWE browser GPO settings. Which also works with Firefox and Google Chrome, systems already on the University computers.
