Extra Information:

UWE's reasonable adjustment policy currently includes disabled students, caretakers and pregnant students. However, students experiencing ongoing medical issues are likely to be unable to dedicate attention to academic responsibilities due to pain, medication, hospitalisation etc. Moreover, considering current waiting periods for doctors' visits and medical procedures, it may be out of students' hands to improve their condition. To avoid misuse of this policy, it is possible to demand documentation (e.g. doctor's notes).

Bereavement should be also included as a reason for the adjustment since such an event may not only have a significant impact on a student's mental health but also may require high levels of time and attention (such as legal and organisational responsibilities of the funeral, travel back to home country for funeral etc).
